The North American Electric Reliability Corporation developed a program language known as Reliability Standard Audit Workshop (RSAW) with the aim of facilitating and help guide and track its own as well as regional entities’ assessment of its compliance with the NERC’s reliability standard a process that will involve a review of artifacts (documents and records) as well as the implemented measures including technology and organizational procedures and processes. The result is a uniform template used for evaluating and identifying evidences of compliance.

This NERC RSAW language which is contained within each RSAW give a non-exclusive list of all types of the evidence that a particular entity may wish to produced or that it may be requested to avail in order to demonstrate its compliance with each one of the Reliability Standards requirements. However, the NERC RSAW is merely treated as a mere substitute for assessing the compliance with Reliability Standard Requirements as it is only able to provide just some of the methodologies that NERC itself has settled on to use when assessing the utilities’ complinace with the set Reliability Standards requirements.
