North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), an independent and international non-profit organization, It is responsible for regulating the reliability of the North America’s electric system. The NERC is responsible for enforcing and developing NERC reliability standards. It is essential to know or understand the roles of NERC and FERC for all covered entities. In essence, NERC is an electric security solution provider. FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) is working together with NERC CPI program to ensure the reliability of bulk power system in the USA.
NERF, headquartered in Princeton, N.J., is a non-profit organization. Its mission is to ensure NERF reliability standards, and other key security concerns of bulk power system in North America. NERC and FERC is working together to enforce NERC reliability standards with owners, operators and users of the United States of America. Compliance with the NERC reliability standards is a must for all companies, owners and users that are part of the North American Electric girds.
